MAY
Rides & Activities
Club bicycle rides are open to all who wish to participate.
We request that bicyclists use safe riding techniques (see Tips&Stuff).
The use of a helmet is strongly recommended. We encourage new riders to join OSW.
MOST RIDES DO NOT GO IN RAIN, CONTACT RIDE LEADERS TO CONFIRM.
 Well, I haven't made it to a ride.  My wife is at home.  She is still on Oxygen and having physical and occupational therapy at the YMCA.  She is getting stronger but still needs a wheelchair or a walker.  Pushing her around Rodgers Auction for 3 hours one Friday was an interesting experience.  ( Then we found out they rent mobility scooters.) I am working weekends so I can take her to therapy and Doctor vists without missing to much work.   Hopefully I will show up on a few weekday ride shortly.

Thanks Jack (Webmaster)

Leisurely = 9-11 M.P.H. Low Moderate = 11-13 M.P.H.
Mid Moderate = 12-14 M.P.H. High Moderate = 13-15 M.P.H.
Brisk = 15-18 M.P.H.  Fast = 18-plus M.P.H.

March 9, 2007 – The American Cancer Society announces plans for its inaugural Pan Ohio Hope Ride, a Cleveland to Cincinnati bicycle tour that will raise awareness and funds

for its Hope Lodges in the two cities. The four-day,

noncompetitive, multistage tour will start at Case Western

Reserve University in Cleveland on August 9 and finish at

Yeatman's Cove on the Cincinnati riverfront on August

12.Our Hope Lodges have helped cancer patients from

neighboring states and almost every county in Ohio by

providing warm, caring, no-cost places to stay near leading

cancer-fighting medical centers," said Don McClure, CEO

of the American Cancer Society's Ohio Division. "It will

be fitting for this tour to reach so many of those counties

by following the Ohio to Erie Trail through some of the

most beautiful stretches of the state."Participating cyclists

will travel about 300 miles between the two cities with

overnight stops at the College of Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan

University in Delaware and Antioch College in Yellow

Springs. Each cyclist pledges to raise $2,650 to participate in

the full Cleveland to Cincinnati route. In addition, riders can

also participate in the one-day Finale Ride with a fundraising

pledge of $650. The Finale Ride on August 12 will travel

from Yellow Springs to Cincinnati. Sign up or learn more by

visiting www.cancer.org/hoperide. The ride is capped at 600

participants. Many volunteers are also needed to make the

first Pan Ohio Hope Ride a success.
