Ride of 15 - 20 miles at mid to high moderate pace plus a hike and some birding in Poland Township Park begins at 8:00 AM in Town One Square Shopping Center (intersection of 224 and 170 in Poland). We will ride to Poland Township Park. There we will hike the trails through the the wooded area, hike the area next to the pond and wetland, and walk a portion of the cross country course. Although no warranties are made as to what we will see, we have seen a great blue heron, a great white egret, a belted kingfisher, red tailed hawks, and some yellow (or prairie) warblers, among other wildlife, on recent trips to the park. There also is a waterfall visible from the cross country course. We will ride back to Town One Square after the hike and birding. A bike lock, hiking shoes, and binoculars are recommended.
